as i remember this results is sum of "forum votes" + "reddit/r/psybient" .

 

will listen to the number 2 from September. Never heard this name, but how can i miss this now.

have some doubts of objectivity of people who voted for him, as it had only 1 vote in here. But whatever let's discover something new

yeah I figured that would be brought up. I expressed my doubts on reddit as to the authenticity of the high number of votes for both Metamorphosis and Alex Fun, but especially for Alex Fun. I mean yeah its a decent EP but that looks like obvious vote brigading to me, where the artist got a bunch of his friends to log on and vote him up to the top. In the future I'll deal with suspicious votes like these before posting the results.

if you just delete let's say 80% of votes for new comers because they feel like "fake" it can be not fair, as maybe 50% of them were real votes and other 50% were friends.

 

there is reason why reddit had "login/pass" to upvote.

I'm going to enable the "restrict votes by IP address" option for the Reddit poll so a single computer can only vote once, but that still wouldn't help when all the artist's friends get on their multiple computers and brigade the poll.

 

As for manipulating the poll results because they look "suspicious", I'm not likely to do that very often at all, if ever. I'd rather just report the results as they are, but I absolutely will point it out that I think it looks suspicious every time it happens.

 

But after all we shouldn't take these weekly/monthly polls too seriously, it's the end of the year polls that really count. These are just meant to give us a general idea of what people liked throughout the year without having to wait until the big end of the year poll.
