this video is very oldscool, it is in french and it speaks about vinyl import, and new beat music (as i understand this music was a great push for electonic music production). Music was dancy, mixed by dj and clubs.

It feels like it was a pre-rave sound.

This is very important movie for the rave / free party culture in France.

it is called HERETIK SYSTEM - WE HAD A DREAM and i guess you can find subtitles in english, as it was originally released as a DVD. You will find footages of massive raves 10-50'000 people, huge soundsystems, and teknivals.

have you wath them? can you make introduction what is it about?

Yes i did, Boom Festival is not just a Trance festival is much more, it takes place in Portugal every two years, and considered one the best festival around, quote:

http://www.boomfestival.org/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boom_Festival

"Boom is not only a festival, it is a state of mind. Inspired by the principles of Oneness, Peace, Creativity, Sustainability, Transcendence, Alternative Culture, Active Participation, Evolution and Love, it is a space where people from all over the world can converge to experience an alternative reality."

"Boom is a festival dedicated to the Free Spirits from all over the world. It is the gathering of the global psychedelic tribe and of whoever feels the call to join in the celebrations!! Boom is a weeklong unpredictable and unforgettable adventure. It takes place, every two years, during August Full Moon, on the shores of a magnificent lake in the sunny Portuguese inland and every one is invited!"

Those are documentaries about all of the above, the festival, the artists, the psychedelic lifestyle really

Yesterday I came across to this "Electronic Awakening" documentary... "Electronic Awakening is an ethnographic Documentary film which investigates the spirituality of the Electronic Dance Music Culture."

http://www.electronicawakening.com/

Seems pretty interesting and most likely going to watch it later this week (can be found at iTunes for reasonable price).

Documentary by the BBC on the development of rave culture in the United Kingdom during the summer of 1989.

Whats important to remember about those times, was that Thatchers Britain was a difficult place to grow up in,and ultimately, rave was a release from the greed orientated, money centred mainstream world.

Raves gave young people isolated by the Thatchite world view a place to be themselves.

Eduardo De La Calle (72 min)

Filmed with practically no budget, minimal technical resources but a fervent desire to document an important piece of music history, "Beatz" is the result of three years of effort and the absolute dedication of Eduardo De La Calle, with help of Vincent Livolsi, Daniel Arasanz and Iban Ugalde. The film is shot in various cities including Berlin, Tokyo, Barcelona, New York, Amsterdam and Paris and functions as rapid subjective summary of today’s dance music scene, from its origins to the professionalization of the genre and the paradigm shift that has come with the digital age. Pedro Pantaleon and Eduardo De La Calle ran the musical selection and the script was written by Daniel Arasanz.
