  1. I sleep at around 7h a day, when i can sleep, i usually have a difficult time to sleep, and i never go to bed before midnight...and i'm not a morning person at all, hate waking up too early, and to be honest i'm only at my best at around 10.30 11h...used to work during the afternoon/night some years back and it felt better than working from 9 to 5pm...but well....

  2. Well, Shpongle would say that Shongle's album is the best psybient album ever made.   ;)

Don't the oldies always say the old music was better?  Maybe it is just perspective, and the ties that bond us to music in our past are stronger than what we feel for the newer music.  When we were younger (I'm nearly 42) we were impressionable and going through big changes finding our places in the world.  The music I listened to 15 or so years ago definitely made its mark on me and brings up feelings when I hear it today.

So the genre is probably still fresh for new, younger ears.

Anyway, I listen to less 'psybient' these days than I used to.  I suppose my tastes have broadened as well over the years.  I it's all swings and roundabouts - falling in and out of love with different genres at different times, going and coming again.  That's why I rarely sell my old CDs, because sometimes I go back to the old ones and have a listen and enjoy them, and reminisce.   :)

Who would've thought i would say that about Shpongle :D

I agree, older people always claim that "back in the day" music was better, i guess every generation says that...and yes i bet 99% of the younger generation will say the genre has been getting better while the older generarton will say the opposite, but like you said it's probably all about perspective...to each their own ;)

  3. Looks like it's official!!

Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy & Cypress Hill Members Unite In Prophets Of Rage

Prophets Of Rage have officially been unveiled. The new outfit features Rage Against The Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk paired with Chuck D & DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill. The collective will be performing beefed up versions of material from Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill, and also will have been working on their own original material."

  4. I don't know if it's getting worse, but i see my self listening to older releases rather than new...alot of it sounds familiar to me, i'm listening and it's like i heard this before, there's hardly any new releases out there with that "wow" factor...was listening to the Shpongles first album yesterday(which to me is the best psybient album ever made) and is stills sounds fresh to me, better than 99% of whats out there nowadays...maybe i'm just getting old lol

  5. Tool and Porcupine tree are both great great bands! Can't wait for the release of the new Tool album (whenever that may be) and hopefully get to see em live in London sometime.

Btw also rumours of a Rage Against The Machine comeback, or some form of spin-off band, maybe with new front man. - http://www.metalinjection.net/latest-news/rumors/rage-against-the-machine-begin-teasing-something-major-is-it-another-reunion

Saw this the other day, a new supergroup by the looks of it, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, Chuck D, & B-Real, i would definitely check this out

Here's a novelty kind-of-metal thing, just for the sake of it :P :

That reminded of this for some reason, even in an acoustic guitar this song sounds heavy

Like this post if you used to listen to heavy/death/sympho/melodic/black/trash metal. or still do!!!

Still a metal fan till this day, even though i don't listen to it as much as i did, i still follow some bands, it depends on my mood really...Metallica was the band that got me into metal, still love them till this day, saw them live 5 times, Marilyn Manson was one of my main bands back in the day as well, all i did was wear Manson shirts during a time in my life lol still listen to it, his latest album was amazing by the way.

Other bands i still listen to, Deftones, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, Machine Head, Rammstein, Soulfly(old albums), KoRn, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Rage Against the Machine.....

  6. It's only part of a track, it sounds great though, can't wait to listen to the whole thing...yeah i know it's been 10 years since their last album, but from what some members have been saying and some footage they shared looks like this time around they're definitely working on it.

You're probably right, it's probably like you said some of them have a rock music background, i just find it curious that even though it's two completely different genres i find their fans somewhat similar in a way.

I consider Tool the modern Pink Floyd, both musically ahead of 99.9% of the other bands out there

  7. I'm not a huge fan of the band overall, but Aenema and Lateralus are masterpieces in my book, as are all their videos. The lyrics on Lateralus are some of the most profound ones I've ever heard. The Alex Grey artwork is also a huge bonus. I saw them on their 10,000 Days tour twice, unfortunately with 99.9% the same setlist. The first time I saw them I was completely blown away by both their performance and the show, but the second time I realised that what I thought had been jamming was actually thoroughly rehearsed added bits, almost identical to the first time. I don't think they'll do another full-length album, although they do have a couple of new songs. And even if they do, I doubt it will be on par with their previous output. I hope I'm proven wrong on both accounts of course.

I agree, Lateralus is on my top 5 albums of all time, i love everything about this band...saw them live twice as well, one during the Lateralus tour and one on the 10,000 tour, and both times i was blown away by it, their whole performance is top notch, they're all great musicians and Maynard is one of the greatest frontman off time, that guy is just hypnotic on stage...they're working on a new album, that will probably be released by the end of this year or early next(hopefully) they have been jamming this new "track" live latelly, and it has a "lateralus" feel to it...i have high hopes for this album.
