floyd2.0 got a reaction from Trala Lama in DJs and Tracklist
Tracklists are indeed very important for the support of producers.
But i agree with the fact that it isn't always easy to do it in a propper way, like Trala Lama says.
Also a tracklist will make the set more atractive for the people who are looking for a set they like.
Personally I often check out the tracklist first before I listen to a set.
And time-stamping is a must, but i don't do it every time, mainly i'm a bit lazy sometimes

floyd2.0 got a reaction from Gagarin Project in Listen to my DJ mix
Hi musiclovers, Maybe you noticed it allready but i didn't visit this forum for a while now. Why? Because I feel I spent to much time behind a PC and to many time outside, walking about. Being summer and all (as i say this it's raining dog's at the moment ), i just feel like i want to spent more time outside in nature. So, i'm not ignoring psbient.org, i just lay low for a while. I hope you guys understand. i'll be back, no doubt about that! Just don't know when. saying 'Bye for now' with a tune: https://soundcloud.com/floydotwo/litha-midsummer Tracklist:

Hi all,
I am Nicolas, from France.
Everything started with psychedelic rock from 66-70 to which I listened a lot, exploring as well psychedelic soul, funk, hip-hop and all kinds of psychedelic stuff (without neglecting the non psychedelic :-)). Love music anyway.
A friend took me to Hadra in 2009 and it was kind of a shock, became immediately a fan of both psytrance music and the crowd spirit evolving around it. This music was introduced in my body and never left it.
Wasn't that much into artists and all (I like the anonymacy around it) but I discovered Shpongle which was the trigger for deeper exploration.
Love psytrance at parties, but at home, I really love downtempo, chill, psydub, psybient positive or dark. Really happy about the existence of this website that I discovered through Gagarin which will, I hope, create a community around downtempo, a little explored subject.
In life, I'm right now trying to finish a PhD on water management.
I am looking forward to seeing some of youz at Ambiosonic soon :-).
Cheerios to all of you!

i'm not an expert in organising parties (but i thought about it very often).
your financial sum looks logical to me.
but maybe, i'm just thinking out loud here, we could cut costs on artists. say we could ask some folkz we know from this forum (plenty of DJ's here)
maybe a few do it for free, who knows
hell, we could make it some kind of psybient.org-venue!
and we flyer only digital (facebook, twitter and what not), that way we have no printed flyers (= less costs).
you can tell me if i'm dreaming here, but i just wanted to put it out here!
anyway, i'll send the planetarium a mail and see wat they say, and just maybe we can start from there.

floyd2.0 reacted to Trala Lama in DJs and Tracklist
I agree that putting a tracklist with a mix is the best option, but sometimes it is hard to describe the actual mix in a linear tracklist.
For instance when mixing more than 2 decks, and fading in and out certain tracks or repeating (parts of) them more then once makes it rather impossible to determine a classic linear tracklist as used by Mixcloud i.e.
(And no way to time-stamp it properly..)
So my opinion is: ''Yes, but...''

floyd2.0 reacted to Gagarin Project in DJs and Tracklist
Some of the DJ's have the old habbit of keeping the tracklist private. While i respect this approach, i think if a DJ decide to put a mix online for a "free listen" they shall put full tracklist, this is the simplest and the most effective way to thank to the artist. Having no time is no excuse, Having 1-2 unreleased tracks is also no excuse, as partial playlist is better then nothing.
what is your opinion ?
