  1. but djing from Ableton? how to? so how about comparing sound from Maschine (NI) and Ableton?
  2. I am starting by creating some nice feeling loop, sometimes it's a pad, sometimes some arp, sometimes drum loops, sometimes some voices. After that I am creating more loops to create a group of sounds that are good to me. After that I can use this group for live playing and I am rearranging the patterns in different ways to create the song sketch. When the sketch is fine, I am tweaking the sounds, add filters, effects and more sounds to fill the tracks aura.
  3. Drowning In Drone, Absynth, Massive, Reaktor, Kinetic Metals and Mininova used. It's always nice to fall down in drone improvisation
  4. Anybody into this brilliant ambient space game? It was huge hype before release, lots of people were dissapointed after cause the game is a bit boring to them. But for me it's different, it's nice to travel across the galaxy, visit the planets, chillout and do it again, and again, and again Perfect game for space ambient fan Just take a look at the dragons I've found on one of the planets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R8CaEh_uq4
  5. I had used mostly Absynth, samples recorded at iDensity, field recordings, a bit of Kinetic Metals vst, tons of delay and reverb, Massive, Reaktor etc. And - ofcourse - binaural beat generator in the background Yesterday we had a Day of a Cat, so I played with my cat as usual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foqZEOaItI4
  6. https://soundcloud.com/johnny_mandrake/f-vortex Exploring swamp ambient sound layers Recorded for the video that will be released soon! Azan (muslim call for prayer) inspired track. I am traveling very often to Middle East so I am very familiar with this sounds. Another exercise with the new 95 bpm material have fun!
  7. program change messages, very cool stuff. i need to experiment with this also with hardware synths: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lExUPEDV4-8&feature=youtu.be
  8. this is one is good: https://www.amazon.com/Theory-Computer-Musicians-Michael-Hewitt/dp/1598635034 Music Theory for Computer Musicians
  9. i saw their works at the Ozora, pretty outstanding. it's also really nice that this promo video is chillout-based
  10. I just started labourious process of prepering sounds for live acts I am going to perform during summer festival season
  11. Small track from me, first track from the future project called Tha: https://soundcloud.com/johnny_mandrake/thadab
  12. i didn't even try to buy Oddysei, cause I heard it might not work on older Ipads :/
  13. Personally I don't really like Minilogue music, except ambient part of Animals that is one of my favourite. But I really enjoy their way of creating and I am feeling inspired by them. Once at the Goadupa Festival where Marcus played dj set I had a chance to talk with him (after that I met him at the Ozora Festival), the chat with him settled me down in surness that this is the way to play among the people. That's why I choose two ways: live playing where I am showing something completely different than tracks I am trying to arrange (it's a matter of time that they will be good as I want). Someday I will three type of show: full live act, dj set from my tracks and dj set. And maybe dj set with live adds (I have some idea, but I need to check it). There is plenty of options
  14. Ooooookay man, now I understand. I understand the struggle, I got the same. I am trying to learn how to arrange properly and strictly mechanical way of this is really a bit boring. Thats why I started first to learn how to play live and then how to arrange (I did this also because I am against pre-recorded "live" acts). I am trying to arrange, but in fact I still feel better during live playing even it's not so perfect as arranged and perfectly mixed tracks. This hobby is for you, but you have to change the way you produce. Enlarge the setup, go outside the computer, connect everything with midi or cv/gate, prepare synthesizers, samplers, computer and other and jam. This video is very inspirational for me: Go man, do it as live and as human as possible!
  15. it is difficult (especially in the begining) but why boring? it's fun, difficult, but fun!
  16. How to make a track with Legowelt. not psybient, but really inspirational. Legowelt is a bit spooky guy
  17. can you please give some download link? I like to listen music in my car during travelling to work and backwards
  18. if you need more help please ask, i'll prepare some screenshots
  19. connect device to the computer by cable > open iTunes > find your device and open it > click programs on the list on the left > find your application on the list of iTunes sharing files > click on it > import and export files by drag and drop
  20. hey Andreas, I'll check your music, I really enjoy biology based ambient music
  21. Two very creative modular applications: SunVox, easy in modules connectig, it is in fact a mobile workstation that can be run on very large amount of devices. It real fun to create tracks in it! CPU likes it Audulus 3, more complex in modules connecting, it's more similar to real modular synths so you need to have some experience. CPU does not like, but anyway, it's pretty awesome.
