One of the best acts I've witnessed was Dirty Hippy & Evil Oil Man at Boom last summer. Those two guys rocked the floor so hard I couldn't believe it. Perfect mix of uptempo and downtempo tunes making it one of the accomplished live sets I've ever heard. Other than that Master Margherita's live set from the same night was really good as well. Both sets stand to me as totally next level dancefloor music.
A runner up and possible shared first place goes to Carbon Based Lifeforms a couple of years ago at a little farm in my home town. Pure bliss from the two Swedes. They returned to the farm last year (with Solar Fields as well) where my partner and I had the pleasure of warming up for the two acts.

would like to share with you three tracks that i like a lot and that have been an important part of my sound exploration. I am preparing to play a dj set in a tea place in Kiev, as i understood other DJs will play IDM, so i am thinking about playing this tracks to have something not very "psychill" and calm.

I guess I should do an introduction as well. It's about time.
 
I'm Mikkel, born and raised in Denmark, now living in Copenhagen where I try to promote the (non-existing) ambient culture. So far it's moving forward, although slowly. I am also one half of the Mønsterhed duo. As of right now we do DJ sets with all kinds of chilled music and my partner is a skilled VJ and content creator for his medium, so we're looking to branch into audio-visual performances when I can pull myself together and make some music for it.
My connection to the site is that I sometimes help out behind the scenes on Psybient, doing proofreeding of the larger posts and also published a couple of interviews through the site (those with Easily Embarrassed and Carbon Based Lifeforms). I've been here on the forum from the start, so to say.
 
Ambient has been my preferred style of music for a handful of years now. I think I stumbled upon CBL in 2009 or 2010 and I was hooked from there. Since then my taste has evolved into more beatless terrain, favoring stuff like Matt Hillier's work and the output of 12k Music. However, I still have a fondness of Ultimae and the like

I love the Colourform album, as well as the Open System one. Crystal Moon a bit less so, but Silent Pool is mesmerising.
 

This is one of the first Matt Hillier's ishq releases with his friend Jake Stephenson (together they also form "Colourform") who sadly died around 2004

Whoah. This is pretty diverse! Nice influences from different genres. And I dig the artwork!

I really didn't know where to post this since it has very little to do with psychill or trance (I express those inclinations in my other collab project, One Arc Degree) so I think this is the right place. 
 
The 1st of April will see the release of my debut album as Spinnet. I have put together a 15 minute preview, so that I don't bore anyone descibing the music with words. Just have a listen and decide for yourselves...

not sure if this is exactly what you're after, and I'm sure you've heard Liquid Stranger before, but this track came to mind. the parts with the accordion like sounds at least... what instrument is that actually?

My name is Yuri. I am Russian, born in Latvia, living in UK since 2005. I work as Web Application Developer. I've been listening to Psychedelic ambient and psychill since 2003-2004. I was 17 years old, and I was picking psilocybe semilanceata back at home and naturally started researching everything that is related with psychedelic culture, heard Future sounds of ambient vol3. And shortly after heard Shpongle. Became crazy Shpongle fan until they released 4th album. Was listening to Shpongle all day everyday and it was like a religion for me for a while, then suddenly my obsession stopped when 4th album was released.

These days I am mostly listening to Matt Hillier's music and sacred bass/glitch inspired psychill. I do listen to psytrance, nothing cheesy, nothing too progressive, sometimes dark and forest but not manically. I do listen to other genres as well including idm, balkan, dub techno, etc etc. Whatever sounds interesting can work.

I heard about psybient.org in it's early days naturally through social media, and my friend Nick Gabriel, then started following iurii on Facebook to get all the latest updates.
