  1. More awesomeness from SIXIS. He retains his astonishing capability for melody within a genre that can often suffer in this area. It's not glitch for the sake of glitch at all, there's such a delicate musicality behind it. You can really hear how much he's been working on every element of his sound in this EP and there is an amazing amount of sonic space in which all these crazy elements are interacting. Beautiful use of a full range of frequencies. Just awesome really! True Light Of Darkness soundtrack - some absolute gems on here, and the theme provided by James's project makes for a very cohesive 37 minutes of music. I used three of these tracks on the last episode of New Moon Grooves, and the theme of darkness was so strong I just had to use it for the show too. The Halfred and TRIBONE track is particularly wonderfully weird. Lovely stuff.

  5. I'll be checking these out, thanks yiannis
  6. Also some of Kuba's stuff might be considered a lighter, more subtle form of psydub.
  7. Shanti Planti all the way. Quanta, Akasha, Landswitcher Plus Globular, as many have already mentioned, and for my original introduction to the genre, Slackbaba (though only his old stuff - I personally don't like his new stuff at all). If you're in the mood to listen to a mix, there's loads of psydub in this one: _/\_

  9. I've actually been thinking about doing this. I haven't committed to it yet as my time commitments in my life have just ramped up quite a bit so I'm still getting used to how much free time I can expect, but yeah, I hope to start writing reviews for you lovely people at some point I think that would add a lot of value to the site/forum.
  10. Whitebear - I already loved his stuff but this EP has so much more sonic space and just as much punch. Even the rework of Recalibrated has benefited from a level-up in this area. Yeah, $9.95 seems a bit steep to me! It's all quality, but still...
  11. Yeah I prefer the small festivals. Mind you, here in the UK we only ever have small psy festivals! Anything bigger is generally very commercialised and not very psychedelic!

  17. Wow, what a lot of killer releases this week! I was especially impressed with the Aquatic Collective Compilation - just gem after gem of somehow intense yet understated bassy glitchy goodness. Operentzia is another new find through this poll for me. A really tasty collage of beats and sounds, inventive without sounding too 'experimental' - the unique variety of sonic textures in this just works! The Vajra Mind collection is just stunning. I listened to Amani's mix of the release at an emotionally difficult moment and was comforted and uplifted by a lovingly crafted landscape of sacred sound <3 Yeah you know it!
