I know....but only because he bought one of my albums on bandcamp. And I'm not saying. :-)

Seb Taylor's Collected Downtempo Vol 3 hits the spot for me.  Some great tracks on there.

On a side note, I have just discovered this week that I have never listened to his Kaya Project - Elixir album all the way through.  It's sensational!

I think that is the point I was trying to make in a couple of other posts on the subject.  Opinions.  About the music.

To say an artist has sold out, or is burnt out, or not trying, whathaveyou, seems to me to be playing the person and not the ball (i.e. the music itself).   Our tastes change over time, as do we, and so does an artist's.  Sometimes their music stays too much the same for us, and other times the music is not the same enough and we don't like the direction they are going in.  But it's all really relative to our own direction we find ourselves headed in.  It's not good or bad.  Maybe it can be disappointing - kiss the winged joy and all that - but other times it's pleasing to go along with them.

Yes, definitely saQi.  And Tribone.  Though I will wait for bandcamp before I buy Tribone's EP.

I also thought this was really good from last week:

^ You're response is just what he was taking about.  People laying stuff on him that's not anything to do with him.  Is he really burned out?  Or is that just what you think because he didn't produce exactly what YOU were wanting to hear?  He didn't sound burned out to me.  In fact, he sounded the opposite - that he is exactly where he wants to be, doing what he wants to do.

There were some somewhat negative comments on Isratrance about Ott's new album.  Anyway, Ott responded.  I have to agree with what he says.  He's always been pretty reasonable in my view...

Hang on, Wildlight - The Tide was last week as well.

That would have garnered a vote from me.  Love their work.

Mindex's EP is pretty good, probably my favourite from the last week.  I like his work a lot.

I actually think that Gravitas Recordings has been on a roll lately, with:
Revolution by CloZee Neoterik by Gater The Flavor by Mindex (obviously) Chasing The Midnight Sky by The Digital Connection (released yesterday and seeming really, really good after the first listen) Paper Tales by Fine Cut Bodies (due next week.  an artist I haven't heard much from but I have liked what I have heard, even if it is a bit harsh at times). Usually I find a lot of Gravitas' releases a bit too glitchy and grating, hard to listen too.  But these releases have seemed more mellow, listenable.

And of course I can't forget the mighty Electrocado and their album Scribble.

^ I really like that track as well.  And 'The Bicycle of the Sky'.  The upbeat tracks are really good.

I had the album on in the car the other night and have to say I really enjoyed it.  It was my first proper, active listen.  Maybe I like it more than the last one?  I don't know yet.  I reckon I will listen to it a lot over the coming Spring and Summer months (here in the antipodes).

Kuba's albums are really, really good.  Long time favourites.

I'd also add the May Y Tierra compilation that came out on the too-short-lived Zulu Lounge Records.  For me it's an absolute classic of sun-drenched beachy chillout goodness.  I've never been to Ibiza, but this is how I imagine it sounding.  I have always come back to this album over the years, as well as Kuba's.

Interchill's albums have always been good to - both Artist and Compilation albums. Future Memories is a favourite:  http://www.discogs.com/Various-Future-Memories/master/391465  Ultimax's Noir is one of my all time favourite tunes of any genre.

You're right Snowdrop. It's such a good EP. I'm digging every track and love the last two.

Maybe I won't be able to wait for bandcamp. Hopefully it appears there real soon, otherwise Addictech it will be be. Heading overseas in a month; this would be great for the headphones!

I didn't notice Whitebear's EP on there last week.  Just had a listen this morning.  It's great!

Not sure whether I will wait for it to appear on Bandcamp before I buy it tho.

Thanks Snowdrop for the word on Anchor Hill.  I've been in two minds myself about his music.  I kind of like some tracks but others are not quite my thing.

Anyway, this album is much different to his previous style.  I like the dancier numbers.  I would have bypassed this if you didn't mention it.

My picks for this week were Erothyme's album - sublime and really intelligently crafted - and The Polish Ambassador's remix album - been looking forward to that for a while.  Even though only 5 of the tracks are on there so far (as of today).

    Agree Floyd.

I would go further and say that I virtually never listen to a DJ mix that does not have a track listing.

I'm always on the hunt for new music and so the tracklist is a must.  Plus, as others have said, it allows the punter to support the artists if they wish to.

Ryanosaurus' Conscious Comfort album is pretty cool.  A nice surprise mixture of styles and sounds, but very groovy.

The other album I loved from last week, which isn't in your list, is Emancipator's Live in Athens album:

Just excellent, and I thought a good companion to Conscious Comfort given they both include live sounds (some obviously more 'live' than others)

A lot of releases there, and most artists I have never heard of.  The only one I have bought over the last week is the Nanda release on Merkaba.  Really like it.  I assume this is the same Nanda that released on Muti Music a few years back.

I will have to listen further to Adham Shaikh's album.  I haven't heard of Chrisna Karast before, so will listen to his too.

I don't tend to buy CDs any longer either, due to the ever expanding number I have/had and the limited storage options for them.  I still need to downsize by a few hundred at some point, but it's hard top choose.

When I did buy more CDs, it was mainly from Saiko Sounds (RIP).  Psyshop was good as well, and relatively cheap: http://www.psyshop.com

Sometimes eBay.  Amazon was good until the postage to Australia became exhorbitant.

Griff's album is the highlight of my week.  I'm loving the progression his music has taken over the last few years.  Very accessible and just the right amount of chunkiness to make it perfect for chilling or dancing.

Mystral's EP is a winner too.

Another Fine Day's album is very good it seems - have only had a couple of casual listens.  Haven't bought it yet.

I really like Cord's Birdie EP - up there with Griff's musical stylings, which I love.

And love Sigil's remix of Lamb's Butterfly Effect.  Have had it since the A Gnostic EP, so it's good to see it getting out again.  It's lovely.

Numatik's intangible is quite good too.  A bit of a change from previous releases I think, with the appearance on Merkaba Music.  I like.

Master Minded - Element and Shaman's Dream - Four Elements

Both released on bandcamp within a few hours of each other.  Both focused on the earthly elements.  Both excellent.

I was waiting for Master Minded's album with enthusiasm, but the Shaman's Dream EP was a nice surprise!
