  1. I like both but like Gagarin for some reason I tend to focus more on full-length albums, maybe even take them a bit more seriously. Spatialize, if you feel you'd rather put out a full-length album with a long story than several autonomous EPs, which might feel a bit unfinished to you, I reckon you should go for the LP. Otherwise it doesn't really matter, as long as you alone are pleased with the final result. I'm assuming you're a realist and don't expect to make any serious money from releasing psychedelic downtempo, like arakoon said.
  2. I don't think I agree with the idea of industrial =/= psychedelic. Anything can be psychedelic in the right context IMO. I'm not aware of any industrial psybient artists but with the ethos of 'no limits apart from tempo' of psy-downtempo it's not out of bounds I reckon. Granted, I don't listen to industrial (and in fact any kind of urban), but I would be curious to see a mixture of the two.
  3. I like and voted for several of those. Miktek deserves all the appreciation he receives. I also absolutely adore Dhamika's Solitude EP. However, there are lots of EPs I don't know. Can I ask that one of the three tags describing the music be added so that people (well, I ) can check releases out a bit more easily please? Thanks
  4. There is no generalised answer to this I think, this is in fact what we are discussing here. It's far better to see how people view this and possibly get a clearer idea of what the majority of people use rather than arbitrarily dictate what the "universally accepted" terminology is. Bottom up rather than top down.
  5. Purely theoretically, I agree with timeisart. Personally speaking, the term psychill is related to 'chill out' in my mind, which is a term that grates me for some reason. Possibly because it is used by people who don't appreciate psychedelic music as a catch-all phrase for anything downtempo. I know it's all in my head but there you go. I tend to use psybient or psychedelic downtempo as the umbrella term.
  6. Quite a bit of variety on this one. Some more to my liking than others. Nibana delivers again for me, one to definitely look out for in the future. Really silly cover and title though
  7. I liked the Astral Travel Agency album on a quick listen - I'll admit that the artwork prompted me to listen to it - though it's not 100% downtempo; there are a few trance tunes that are not bad at all imo.
  8. Sounds a bit like Tengri but I don't think it is.
  9. I like the Astropilot&Friends album. I'm not the biggest fan of chillgressive and Iriy still hasn't clicked with me but this one works much better for me. It could have something to do with the fact that he's collaborating with artists I like a lot. The Dub Trees EP caught me by surprise as, to my ears at least, it doesn't have anything in common with their first album. Will need to have a proper listen. CBL was great too but not really new.
  10. Just discovering Cosmopolite Dreams. Pretty good - positive atmospheres throughout, with a variety in the beats department and up/downbeatness, if I can call it that.
  11. On the first couple of listens it didn't grab me. Not bad, but not great either. I like most of his works so it might take a bit of time for it to sink in.
  12. I agree with timeisart's proposal. Maybe we can include releases from last December (2015) that won't have been around for a whole year yet. I don't think the votes should be counted again since the results have been announced. I'd suggest being a bit more precise next poll.

    Ektoplazm

That table is very useful, I reckon it's so much easier to find BC music by year and in alphabetical order than googling it, sometimes it takes ages to get to the right page - especially if you don't remember the title of the release. I wasn't quite aware of this feature, thanks for bringing it to my attention timeisart.
  14. That looks really good. I'm sorry I wasn't there, what with the blockades, the Ozrics playing the following week and having seen Aes Dana three times before (and never going away with a more than OK, with some great moments impression), I couldn't make it. Hope to catch you guys there some time soon.
  15. I'm liking Bioscape's album too, although the first tune sounds a bit like 80s soap opera intro music in places.
  16. Maybe you could try Astropilot's Solar Walk albums Unusual Cosmic Process - Spacetrip Ishq - Timelapse in Mercury E-Mantra - The Hermit's Sancuary Psyrius - Sorry Pluto Robert Rich - Medicine Box More or less everything by Dimmat and Ascendant Less spacey but worth checking out are Sundial Aeon and Kyoto.
  17. Tribone, Cloower Wooma, Mystic Crock, Stereomantra, Rakoon, Sixis and Stimulous Timbre released albums or EPs before 2015. I don't mean to take anything away from these artists' achievements, it's just that, what's the criterion to be included in this category if not the fact that your first release was in 2015?
  18. Τhe gig I went is on YT in its entirety now as well. A bit more chilled I reckon but not by much.
  19. Here's taste if you're interested, the setlist is a bit different towards the end but close enough Sound starts at 5:40
  20. Wow, these videos may not be weird but they sure are beautiful. Thanks for sharing Solastalgia

    Swamp?

Can you give some examples please? My brain refuses to make the connection. Maybe I should call the music I listen to "computer music". I play all of it (minus my old rock and metal vinyls) on my computer, digital or CD. Or "ThePlace" as that's where nearly all live gigs are. As I've mentioned before I'm not against labels per se; I think they're useful if they are applied descriptively rather than as borders.
