  1. Saw Alwoods for the second time last weekend and, quite possibly because I went with an open mind, I enjoyed it more than the first. Some really twisted and weird tunes, some more atmospheric, I liked the majority. I am not too familiar with his output - since he is a bit more uptempo than the psychill I usually go for - but he sounded great in the live context. He presented some new tracks from his upcoming album too. Apart from two DJs, both of whose sets I saw about 20 minutes, Alpha Tek & Nortoel played a set too, which I loved. I'll admit there were a couple of moments the thought, "Hmm, a bit generic" came to mind but it soon passed as their music washed over me in waves of aural beauty. The best thing is that the gig came as a bonus, as I went to Athens for my (supercute) niece's second birthday.
  2. This is an enormous compilation with lots of names I like. Will have a listen soonish. You guys (One Arc Degree) seem to be on every respected label. I really hope I can catch you next time you play at The Place.
  3. Nice one. 1 & 4 didn't quite grab me but the rest were quite good, especially 3, 5 and 6. Causatum I found OK, quite pleasant. I still like To Sirius the most.
  4. Wow, new Ullulators album! I wonder what it sounds like, they started all Ozricky, went down the electronic road with their later 90s tapes and then silence until today. Hopefully it'll turn up somewhere I can check it out sooner or later. Gavin says the remastered versions of their early tapes are almost ready. ...If anyone cares...
  5. The only two tunes that instantly spring to mind are and Plus the majority of Ott's Blumenkraft.
  6. Forever After is one of the most hypnotic albums I've ever heard. I like Dragon Tales but I'm not in love with it, at least yet. I tend to prefer more melody. It's been a grower over the years and it's likely to grow on me even more. It's very psychedelic for sure.
  7. The Step High album is good, cheerful psydub. The Astral Travel Agency EP is right up my alley. Had a listen to the Mystical Sun tune available on Bandcamp and it was too spacey ambient for me. It needs the right mind space to be appreciated. Society of Inner Light sounds really good and varied. I'll have a listen to the Drumspyder album soonish - hopefully - and I'll probably listen to the Koan album when they upload it to YouTube.
  8. Nice dubby vibes from an unknown artist. Happier and with a lighter mood than most psydub. It's supposed to be about the chakras but there's not much variation in rhythm and mood, just some in the sounds used on each track.
  9. I don't want to brag or anything but I have a feeling that my multiple visits a day have put Greece up so high, there aren't that many Greeks around here. In fact I can't remember anyone else apart from Spinnet. Could be wrong though, it was very crowded at The Place when there was that awesome all-Greek party in May.
  10. Just like the title says. There doesn't have to be purpose other than trippiness. Music is also not important. Post what you like as you come across it. Really liking this one, listening to Star Sound Orchestra's Psy * Force along to it. I've never had DMT so I'm only liking the effect of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UcKhas3HCk
  11. I found this video really interesting but didn't know where to post it so here goes:
  12. This is really uplifting, although I only know a few of the tunes they're playing. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Friday is awesome, but I'll be at work that day until quite late. Plus I'm going to DJ Antaro at the Place next weekend.
  14. Good job, I liked it. Obviously the pads can't be reproduced without electricity, but the rest of it was done tastefully.
  15. Best EP of the year so far for me, incredible. I really, really hope they do a collaborative full-length album, it'll be absolutely amazing.
  16. Two Cabeiri tunes I think we've missed here: Chilled and dark, like much of their work. They are only available on their Soundcloud page with Mediafire download links for anyone interested.
  17. Having a listen to Max Million's EP, it's really good. Fits the autumn-like weather perfectly.
  18. Some Ektoplazm goodness. After listening to his last album I'm now listening to his first https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ATltz76EU0 (download links in the description)
  19. Sounds good. It's a Simon set right? I've seen a video - which I posted in the videos thread iirc - where he does different versions of Shpongle tunes, more dancy and electronic but still enjoyable and certainly creative and fresh. Xpander, would you mind reporting on this show? I'm particularly interested in what kind of set Tripswitch does these days - does he still include psychill tunes or is it all house now?
  20. This morning I had a listen to Solar Fields' Blue Moon Station after many years. I remembered why it had been so long by the middle of the album: it is challenging and forward thinking even by today's standards imo. Much less accessible than his later efforts and varied to the point of disjointed in parts. I don't think I've listened to such an album in recent years. It's an album I must tackle again for sure.
  21. Kyoto - Sundance EP. It's trance and not bad at all. Better than his beatless ambient album imo.
  22. Liked the AstroPilot remix EP. Not crazy about the Cydelix/Suduaya tune, though I like most of their respective output. Really liked the Dimmat EP, it has a dark, pagan feel, with strong Greek elements. The first and last tunes are awesome in my book, the middle two quite good but not masterpieces IMO. Τhe Tengri EP, is also great as expected. He's playing at a festival somewhere in Greece this month, hope someone films a bit of his set. Will probably have a listen to the Germind EP.
