  1. A thought that crossed my mind is that, in a way, he may felt forced to complete it on time. Not that other pledged projects haven't been delayed before, but still, it's a different kind of pressure than simply working on your music signed on a label. Other than that, you have to consider that Ott has been exploring the same sound style for a decade or more. I mean, not just the same style but this very specific vision of dub music. It becomes exceedingly difficult to impress or surprise his audience and I would guess himself as well.
  2. I like the retro vibe of the synth/melody. Nice try! You should check Max Million in case you are not familiar with his music. That's what your melody/mood brought to my mind.
  3. Artist: Various Album: VA #3 Type: Album Style tags: Ambient, Experimental, Cinematic Media type: DIGITAL Year: 2015 Label: Assembly Field Catalog ID: AF19 Length: 01:25:06 Volume 3 of Assembly Field's compilation series, features once again a deep & soothing collection of beatless ambient music. The carefull selection of tracks coupled with the long duration helps you to get fully immersed in the meditative atmosphere of the album. Last but not least, I'm proud to participate in this work with the opening track of the compilation
  4. I hear you. We are in the finishing stages of our debut album for the One Arc Degree project and we developed a short science fiction story which the music is actually the soundtrack for. This way everything makes sense: track names, track listing, overall mood, flow, graphic art, everything. It is so much more coherent that a bunch of tunes properly ordered. I would so love to be able to present it in video form as well...
  5. Artist: ASC Album: Imagine The Future Type: Album Style tags: Ambient, Downtempo, Cinematic Media type: CD/LP/DIGITAL Year: 2015 Label: Samurai Red Seal Catalog ID: SMGRSLP02 Length: 01:01:46 Official url: https://samuraimusic.bandcamp.com/album/imagine-the-future After a streak of beatless ambient albums, ASC returns to the frontiers of sci-fi electronica with a breathtaking LP. I dare say that "Imagine The Future" finds him in top shape, assimilating the lush ambient elements he explored in his previous LPs for Silent Season into deep & intricate rhytmic structures. The result is a futuristic journey that grabs you from the first moments, peaking at some dark & intense passages before finally releasing you to the mysteries of the future itself. This is without a doubt my favorite album of 2015 and a great inspiration to my own endeavors as well.
  6. Really beautiful work, I love the warm & spacey atmosphere of the album! This one definitely reminds me of CBL in terms of melodies and even hints to Vangelis at some points, both excellent references for sure Congratulations, I wish you all the best with the album & label!
  7. Packing my things for some free camping with my family on a small island, Tilos, south from where I live. This will be a much needed "detoxication" phase with zero electricity & technology, just some old-fashioned books See you all in a few days
  8. Ultra deep mix, by DJ Samsara https://soundcloud.com/dj-samsara-altar-records/dj-samsara-slowly-fading-away
  9. Actually this is a very easy question, if one recalls the playing time of each album So, for me: 01. Shpongle - Are You Shpongled? -- I actually rendered that cd useless... That album was an eye-openere and mind-expander!! 02. Saafi Brothers - Midnight's Children -- Deep and mysterious in a profound way 03. Solar Fields - Reflective Frequencies -- The perfect example os sci-fi emotive electronica
  10. SoulSonic - Cosmos was a real surprise for me. One of the best albums I've heard in a while. Deep, melancholic, retro synths and ambient tehcno aesthetics, a work of beauty! The Egg & Greg Hunter is a collab made in funk heaven... Amazing release!!
  11. Thank you, much appreciated!! All in all, it's a very impressive compilation. I especially enjoyed both tracks from Galaxy Drop. They have a very nice electronica/progressive/retro feel to them!
  12. Artist: Various Album: Organic Beats Vol. 3 Type: Compilation Style tags: Psydub, Psychill, Tribal Media type: WEB, CD-R Year: 2015 Label: Altar Records Length: 01:09:05 Official url: http://altar.bandcamp.com/album/organic-beats-vol-3-24bits
  13. This is the July installment of my artist showcase series, a 60 minute long mixset presenting a favorite artist of mine each month. So, for July, I could find nothing better than some cool & relaxing psychill music by Erot! Enjoy the set
  14. I posted a photo album in the relevant topic (festival report links) but I can post it here as well. Overall, it was a very well organized festival, best discovery for me was the Radio Tilos stage, a small & cozy stage covered with trees on the back of a small hill. Cool during the day, warm during the night, great variation on music plus some full band live performances!
  15. Hey guys, just got back home from the festival. It was such a great experience! Amazing place, passionate and dedicated crew, astonishing lineup!! I thing there will be a second edition, I guess we'll find out sooner or later
