This is insane, all this music was released in January alone? We have all that music released in just a few sub-gernes EVERY month? Mind-boggling!

I don't know why I never listened to this album before perfect background for getting some work done!

I love Groove Salad! Rusty Hodge is a badass. He got me into a lot of the great acts on the now defunct Pork Records like Fila Brazillia, Baby Mammoth, Leggo Beast, Momma Gravy, Moss, etc... all great downtempo.

We are in the finishing stages of our debut album for the One Arc Degree project and we developed a short science fiction story which the music is actually the soundtrack for. This way everything makes sense: track names, track listing, overall mood, flow, graphic art, everything. It is so much more coherent that a bunch of tunes properly ordered. I would so love to be able to present it in video form as well...

The biology of sleeping & dreaming is an extremely interesting topic! I usually sleep around 6 to 7 hours per day and most of the times have a good recollection of my dreams. I used to write them down semi-systematically, as it helped me discover recurring patterns and features, things that once a kept an eye out for, I could use them to switch over to lucid dreaming (extremely exciting!). 
Anyway, one neurobiologist that has really helped me understand the nature of the dreaming process is Alan Hobson (read "The Dream Drugstore" for example, a great book of his). You can check out one of his talks here:

The Synphaera sound is deeply Berlin school-influenced but with an ambient dance sensibility; a smooth, panoramic style of cosmic psychedelic bleep music that French label Ultimae Records originally championed. The Meridian album by Ascendant (label founders Chris Bryant and Don Tyler) is quintessential ambient trance: lush and mysterious music with spinning arpeggios above gliding pads and discreet rhythmic pulses. “Arcology†is a dark-edged stunner with its haunting chorales, odd delay effects and sound design that has an uncommonly deep depth of field.

"Colours" signals the birth of AstroPilot's new label and judging by the music featured in this first V/A, it's going to be a serious player in the psychill space!

It is actually a A4 high quality thick paper colouring book featuring original designs by the man himself, based on his surrealist and Dadaist psychedelic drawings. The book is accompanied by an original ambient score featuring samples of legendary freethinkers (such as John 'Hoppy' Hopkins, Brian Barritt, Terrence McKenna, Chet Helms, John Sinclair, Michael Gozney, Gregory Sams & Georgina Brett) that Youth has recorded over the years.

Independent blind A-B tests have showed that about 30% of listeners are albe to distinguish 16bit sound from 24 bit sound, and 0% of listeners were able to hear any difference between 24bit and higher bit depth audio. There you have it.
 
As for 16 vs 24bit, the larger dynamic range is a major benefit, quiet sounds becoming audible and / or much more detailed (due to DAC computation bias towards the high end of amplitude range). Remember, this is not only for render/mixdown and playback but all processes (recording / use of samples, plugin processing, outboard gear, converters) throughout the entire production. Main disadvantages use to include size, but actually less so in regards to file storage, more so related to lower realtime file transfer rates (from your drive to your DAW through USB, FW400, etc.) and realtime file processing (playing back 50 tracks in your DAW at 24 bits were more demanding, so was 24 bit processing in your session).  Which are not real concerns anymore, as long as you have a decent multi-core processor and FW800, USB3 or TB connections and 7.2K rpm or faster HD.

A 3-day / 3-stage festival. The River stage is what we would call a chillout stage, the other two are Satyr stage for acoustic bands and Dry Stage for techno. The place is astonishing, next to Eria's waterfalls, entrance is free (including camping site) and the food will be delicious.

Same here, i'm too picky with my music, i don't listen to 90% of those releases, i might give a quick listen on some to check if it "catches" my attention but that is all...i listen to other genres as well so it's hard for me to follow every single release out there...
