  1. Eye think "death" is a relative term, idea, and innerstanding. So to some folks psychill is dead because they don't listen anymore. Or it is dead because their old idea and relationship to it has completely changed (read: evolved). I think the former is less likely than the latter. People who talk about psychill being dead likely still listen, but miss their old relationship with it. Maybe they miss that part of themself when they were listening back then. Fortunately this style of music aides in retrieving these lost pieces of our soul so that we can become whole. Eye think psychill is what it is and always what you make of it. Just as life is. Music is life. Life never dies unless if you perceive it as such. Eye like to think it's always just evolving and transforming which comes shrouded in the illusion of "death".

    Swamp?

I don't think there are many artists that entirely dedicate themselves to making "swamp music" exclusively. So you're more than right that they're hard to find with few and far in between. I do think there are dark and eerie swamp elements in some songs from Globular, Bluetech, and definitely Androcell. Also, if the music is meant to be played near an actual swamp then why not call it "swamp music"? As well as any other label we can throw on it..
  4. I pay for soundcloud and am more than willing to give a little more to them, if it means they'll stay up and running. For me, it's the interface that matters most, and theirs is the easiest to use honestly. Hope they can pull themselves out of this predicament asap!

    Swamp?

Here's a helpful thread from the psybient subreddit that's asking the same as you, yiannis. https://www.reddit.com/r/Psybient/comments/23apak/psybient_army_help_me_find_chill_music_with_a/ Artists mentioned: Androcell Bogtrotter Seamoon Slidecamp Holy Other Boozoo Bajou Slotmachine Swamp Music (record label) https://www.facebook.com/Swamp.of.Life ...and their creative director, TheMetaphysics, suggests:
  6. I agree on the roots in '70s prog rock and early electronic ambient music through the '80s. Also, let's not forget about the KLF's Chillout (1990) with the start of what continues evolving today on psychill stages at festivals. All of which can then be rooted in earlier psychedelic music from the '60s, and on and on and on, back throughout history and past that into pre-history. I think the beauty of psybient and psychedelic music in general, is that it's roots are so diverse and lay in our ancient beginnings as music/trance loving human beings. Lots of ancient instruments and sounds used in the latest releases, and the most primal sounds even with all the nature environmental recording elements.
  7. I agree with andorra on Lauge being up there at the top for ambient to relax to. Also, anything from Ultimae Records is always relaxing good heavy ambient grooves. https://ultimae.bandcamp.com/
  8. I know I'm not a lone in thinking that the new Ethneomystica (Vol. 4) is too good to be true!! Must be fake hahah!! https://mysticsound.bandcamp.com/album/ethneomystica-vol-4
  9. I third that! I've been listening to the microcosmos soundcloud page a lot lately. Their chillout and ambient podcast is just great!!! Listened to the AuroraX edition during a kambo session the other day's new moon/total solar eclipse! Stellar tunes!!!
