  1. ‘Flux’ is ambient, lower-case music that continues the journey started by ‘The Silent Cartographer’. Both warmer and darker than its predecessor, there are no beats or percussion - asymmetric loops of processed found sounds pulse to provide rhythmic shift over a bed of processed field recordings and found sounds above which float, half-glimpsed piano melodies and electronic phrases. It is quiet and immersive but rarely still, always shifting to create new landmarks lit by glitch and inharmonic drift. Tiny details and abstract, organic pin-pricks of sound, emerge and subside in a constant state of flux.
  2. I'm very excited to be appearing as a guest over at Tonepoet's "Spaceman's Transmissions" and deeply flattered by his kind words! This is only the second time I managed to mix strictly ambient material, usually rhythms and beats invade my sets after a few minutes! Set is called "Empty As Universe", meant to bring you closer to the ever-expanding, serene & mysterious Cosmos... Enjoy the music Official URL: http://ambient-transmission.blogspot.gr/2015/09/guest-mix-spinnet.html Tracklist 01. 'Haiti' by Pan Sonic 02. 'Parallel Suns' by Autechre 03. 4. Hello, i'm Master of Chillout community radio co-founder (i use personally TyZeff as username/avatar on the web), Introduction: Master of Chillout(MoC) community radio was initially created on ex-Grooveshark website (web-based music-streaming service). Broadcast/Radio was named: "Chill, Relaxing, Positive? - Study, Work, Relax". Master of Chillout community is part of "Master of" community (Master of Instrumental(MoI), Master of Soundtrack(MoS),... are others "Master of" community groups). "Master of" are dedicated communities for sharing and discovering music. On April 30, 2015, Grooveshark shut down as part of a settlement between the service and Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group (more info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grooveshark). Despite this fact, MoC, MoI, MoS broadcast/channel has been recreated on plug.dj website (the most similar sharing music platform as Grooveshark). MoC new broadcast is now available here: https://plug.dj/master-of-chillout (we have ~2800 songs in our collection, more incoming soon ). MoI new broadcast: https://plug.dj/moinstrumental MoS new broadcast: https://plug.dj/filmscores2 Focus on MoC community radio: "Chill, Relaxing, Positive? - Just Relax And Enjoy ;)" is our chillout way. Music genres Mix of smooth Electronic, Chillout, Chillhop, Downtempo, Lounge, Ambient, New age, some Smooth/Nu jazz, some instrumental & some singer-songwriter and some more: just our chillout way Historic ~4600 fans followed MoC broadcast with a regular audience of 120-150 listeners and we were in the top 15 of the best broadcasts. I repeat myself: "Grooveshark RIP" so we lose all MoC community and we want to restore it, People deserve it to feel better while chilling. Collection of songs Fortunately, we have backuped MoC collection and playlists in text files. We have finished to restored the 2800 songs of the collection which contain the best selection of broadcast genre songs, The restoration is finished so new/fresh songs are upcoming . Website plug.dj On the broadcast / channel: https://plug.dj/master-of-chillout, all people can be DJ, so you will be able to discover and share your songs and be part of the community, it will be also your broadcast . There is also a chat so you can share your thought about music or other things. You can also give your opinion on songs: there is a system of vote and of course you can also add songs to your playlists. There is a lot of nice features on https://plug.dj/. Discover us: Come hang out on our radio / channel to discover it, to enjoy, relaxing and chilling together. For the moment, there is few people on the channel, so don't be surprise. I created the plug.dj channel of MoC too late after Grooveshark shutdown(3 months after, in middle-July) and the community had not another place(website, blog, social media, ...) to find us so community followers have disappeared ;(. Greetings, Master of Chillout community radio co-founder(TyZeff)
  5. I know it's spring now here in the southern hemisphere, but I've been slowly chipping away at it this all winter to get it right. Another carefully arranged selection of some of my favourite psybient/ambient tracks, some are all time favourites and some new gems. Enjoy!
  6. Artist: Various Album: VA #3 Type: Album Style tags: Ambient, Experimental, Cinematic Media type: DIGITAL Year: 2015 Label: Assembly Field Catalog ID: AF19 Length: 01:25:06 Volume 3 of Assembly Field's compilation series, features once again a deep & soothing collection of beatless ambient music. The carefull selection of tracks coupled with the long duration helps you to get fully immersed in the meditative atmosphere of the album. 7. Artist: ASC Album: Imagine The Future Type: Album Style tags: Ambient, Downtempo, Cinematic Media type: CD/LP/DIGITAL Year: 2015 Label: Samurai Red Seal Catalog ID: SMGRSLP02 Length: 01:01:46 Official url: https://samuraimusic.bandcamp.com/album/imagine-the-future After a streak of beatless ambient albums, ASC returns to the frontiers of sci-fi electronica with a breathtaking LP. I dare say that "Imagine The Future" finds him in top shape, assimilating the lush ambient elements he explored in his previous LPs for Silent Season into deep & intricate rhytmic structures. The result is a futuristic journey that grabs you from the first moments, peaking at some dark & intense passages before finally releasing you to the mysteries of the future itself. This is without a doubt my favorite album of 2015 and a great inspiration to my own endeavors as well.

  10. After having attended the house (studio) - premier show yesterday, and it being listed on the release of the week page, it was time to post the "forgotten future: W1" release here. (My personal opinion, if I may: an instant classic with character from one of my favorite composers). Artist: Forgotten Future Album: forgotten future: W1 Type: concept album Style tags: psybient, ambient, space music Media type: CD, Digital Download Year: 2015 Label: Creative Shop Music Catalog ID: CMS008 Length: 77:40 Official site: juliusdobos.com forgotten future: W1 is the first piece of a 4-album concept series, the framework for the musical and ideological endeavor to take the listener through Universal themes centered around four of the "big questions". Vincent Villuis (Aes Dana - Ultimae) and ambient Pioneer Robert Rich have participated in the production of the album, which is available in a premium digipak edition and as a figital download in traditional and in 24-bit studio Master format. forgotten future: W1 is a story of a journey - one of multiversal scale, beyond the boundaries of time and through new dimensions. It is about the journey we all take one day. We are frightened of the unknown, yet it feels so familiar... it feels like we have been in this environment before... It’s a curious and humbling experience, a galactic travel on a forgotten road that takes us to a mysterious destination, which road seems like... we must have traveled it before. And while we feel completely lost, anxious and painfully lonely out there in the vast Universe, we are ecstatic about the journey through the unimaginable, about witnessing the answers to some of the ultimate questions, and at the end, realizing that the experience was not the first one, indeed. But, returning from our voyage, we only bring the distant memories of feelings with us... forgetting the experience – which we will re-live again in the future. ____________________________________________________ about forgotten future is the moniker and brand new project of platinum-album electronic music- and film composer Julius Dobos (Connecting Images, Mountain Flying, DragonBall Z, Don't Mess with the Zohan, MallCop, NCIS). The music evokes strong emotions, memories with haunting melodies, monumental electronic instrumentation, dynamic song structures, cutting edge sounds, organic textures of psybient electronic music. Psybient - ambient organic electronic music with strong rhythms, melodic themes, unique soundscapes, cutting edge sound design - a musical journey through time, space & new dimensions. released 24 April 2015

  19. Hi all, I have just released two EP's of ambient guitar drones. The first, 'Ones & Zeroes', showcases four slightly longer, dreamier tracks while 'Revelations' features five shorter, more varied pieces. Check them out here: https://ambientsketchbook.bandcamp.com/. Thanks to all who have a listen:
  20. I'm doing an "artist showcase" mixset series for 2015, each month introducing a relatively unknown musicial/project. Not always ambient-oriented, but this month you should definitely check out Halftribe. This guy creates some truly soothing soundscapes, I've been following him for a few years now and I have been consistently impressed by his music. Most of it, you can download for free on his soundcloud profile (look him up), he regularly uploads fresh, unsigned material. So, without any more pep talk, go on and enjoy 60 minutes of Halftribe, mixed by me:
  21. I have two projects going currently. My solo ambient project is called Phase47, and my main project with producer S1gns of L1fe is a psybient / psy-chill duo called Ascendant. I'm also a Grammy-Nominated mastering engineer (my day job!). I've been mastering records for 20 years in Hollywood. Info here. Ascendant:
  22. I haven't played live outside since highschool punk bands, but I was struck by the power of a recent occurrence. This (attached) is Chris Bryant (S1gns of L1fe) and I playing live @ Fuzzyland as Ascendant. (I'm hidden behind the giant ornament!) Tom Rothrock puts on an amazing event a couple times a year up on the edge of the Angeles National forest in CA. It's impossible to gauge the scale of this place from pictures. The stage is up in this massive, multi-level treehouse that's built around a huge ancient tree. All around are small hills and plateaus where people perch in mini-tribes - almost like playing in the round in some kind of natural amphitheater. There is something completely transcendent about playing in the open-air, under the stars. There's definitely another connection being made. The perfect kind of venue for ambient / downtempo music in my opinion. People laughing, dancing, having a great time, all connected by the music. Indoor / theater-style gigs can be amazing, but I'm not sure they can completely break through the same way. Thoughts? (You can hear our music here.)

  24. Here's my mix from the Chill Stage at Rainbow Serpent Festival, Sunday, 25 January 2015. It's been an honour for me to play there for the last 8 or 9 years (I should check how long, maybe next year will be my tenth anniversary set...). It was a Sunday morning, 9-11am. The mix starts out rather contemplative - as do Sunday mornings generally - before pitching up into some beats and a bit of here and there-ness. Anyway, it's a great festival and about the only one I get to these days. Hope you enjoy...
