  1. Artist: Fjernsind Album: Dør Type: EP Style tags: Ambient, drone, noise, dark ambient, psychedelic Media type: Digital Download/streaming (Bandcamp for now) Year: 2018 Label: Flystyrt Catalog ID: 0042 Length: >00:14:49 Official url: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/album/in-dreams I know this is a relatively old release, but the reason I post it now is that I thought I already posted it back when I made this EP available originally, and as I just updated it with a new improved mix of the second track "A Lullaby" I intended to post an update in the old thread with a note about this, but then discovered I never actually made a thread about this release. Better late than never I guess, and having updated this old EP with a new mix of one of the songs featured on it I guess is a good reason to finally do it. So here the 2 track EP "In Dreams" is, which is available for free download and listening through the project's Bandcamp page: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/ This is the artwork for the EP:
  2. Made this dark drone track less than a week ago with my drone/ambient/noise project, that just recently had a name change, from sharing my own real name, Jacob Læby, to Fjernsind. The name "Fjernsind" is a word play on the Danish word for "Tele-vision", "Fjern-syn", that directly translated means "Distant-vision" or "Remote-vision", so instead of "syn" ["vision"] as the last syllable, the Danish word for "mind", namely "sind", is used. The title of the track was taken from a line in Clothes of Sand by Nick Drake: Does it now seem worth all the color of skies? To see the earth through painted eyes To look through panes of shaded glass See the stains of winter's grass - Clothes of Sand, Nick Drake As always the track is up for free download and listening through the project's Bandcamp page: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/album/stains-of-winters-grass Track artwork:
  3. An update and apology!: Due to economical reasons I sadly realized that I coudln't afford putting out a physical CDR version, as promised, of this release. At least not currently, though it is still the plan to do so sometime in the future. As for the digital release through various online stores and services, such as iTunes, Amazon and Spotify, the release has been postponed as well, though it should finally be available through said stores and services within about a week from now. Artist: Fjernsind Album: Dør Type: Album Style tags: Dark psychedelic and experimental drone/ambient/noise Media type: Digital/Physical CDR (Bandcamp for now and from mid November at latest (though I count on 1st of November) through various online digital music stores and services, such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify e.t.c, as well as in physical CDR form that will be sold from the project's Bandcamp page) Year: 2018 Label: Self released Length: 74:48 Official url: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/album/d-r-2 Track list: 1. Den Hvide Død (The White Death) 07:26 2. Return to Center 03:07 3. It All Falls Apart 03:16 4. RBG (an examination in chromesthesia) 04:02 5. Blue Dwarf's Hill 21:50 6. Dør 08:00 7. Labyrinth 08:26 8. The Golden Dawn 04:51 9. Electric Cave 05:20 10. Canary 08:30 A bit about the album: A 75 minute long journey through strange mesmerizing and enchanting drone, ambient and noise soundscapes awaits the listener on this album, which tittle Dør means both Door and Dies in Danish. Available for free download and listening via Bandcamp, and will be available through various online digital music stores and services, such as iTunes, Amazon and Spotify e.t.c mid November at latest (though I count on 1st of November) where it also will become available in physical CDR form that will be sold from the project's Bandcamp page. Why I found it necessary to revisit and re-release the album and what consequences that have: This is a revisited re-released version of an album I released just about a year ago, the new version miss 4 of the original tracks, has two new tracks added and as a consequence of that had the track list completely rearranged and the overall playtime reduced from close to 1 hour and 45 minutes to just about 75 minutes. It happened because I finally realized that over 1½ hour play length is too much for an album, especially one containing tracks that somewhat challenges the listener like it's the case here. Also I suddenly realized after listening to the album again in it's old form for the first time in a long while that a few of the tracks were flawed to some extend and didn't really function properly dragging the overall listening experience of the album down. The old version of the album will continue to be available on Bandcamp for free download and listening, in case there are people who has grown fond of some of the tracks that have been scrapped on the new version, but the old version that is currently still available though the various online digital music stores and services, such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify e.t.c, will be replaced with the new one as soon as it is out. Edit!!!: As you can tell from the player, that actually still functions, I changed this project's name from sharing my own real name to Fjernsind, which means that the original link I shared in this post to my Bandcamp profile doesn't work anymore, so here's a new one: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/ The name "Fjernsind" is a word play on the Danish word for "Tele-vision", "Fjern-syn", that directly translated means "Distant-vision" or "Remote-vision", and instead of "syn" ["vision"] as the last syllable, the Danish word for "mind", namely "sind", is used.
  4. This is the most recent track I created: Edit!!!: As you can tell from the player, that actually still functions, I changed this project's name from sharing my own real name to Fjernsind, which means that the original link I shared in this post to my Bandcamp profile doesn't work anymore, so here's a new one: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/ The name "Fjernsind" is a word play on the Danish word for "Tele-vision", "Fjern-syn", that directly translated means "Distant-vision" or "Remote-vision", and instead of "syn" ["vision"] as the last syllable, the Danish word for "mind", namely "sind", is used. As you'll also noticed the single turned into a 2 track EP, feuturing one of my older tracks "A Lullaby" as well. This track was created from pieceing manipulated samples from an old song titled "A Dream" with my lo-fi folk project "...and for such a long time" together (I also turned it into a 2 track EP in the meantime, using an older track called A Lullaby to follow it). Lyrics: In Dreams I know a place where the wind is whispering songs humming through the meadow as a pattern on our closed lips I know a place where the skies are painting pictures coloring thoughts as the willows weep a sad song as a pattern on our closed eyes I know a place where I used to hide my deepest secret thoughts In dreams
  5. Artist: Fjernsind Album: Dør Type: Album Style tags: Ambient, drone, noise, dark ambient, psychedelic Media type: WEB (Bandcamp for now, but will be up on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify e.t.c somewhere around next month (Beginning of June)) Year: 2017 Label: Flystyrt Catalog ID: 0038 Length: >01:30:00 Official url: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/album/d-r-original-2017-version Tracklist: Labyrinth 08:26 Den Hvide Død (The White Death) 07:26 Daisy 06:47 Star Child 14:13 The Green Sage 16:50 Blue Dwarf's Hill 21:50 Dør 08:00 RBG (an examination in chromesthesia) 04:02 Electric Cave 05:20 Lullaby 05:31 Return to Center 03:07 Free download! Finally finished the making of sort of a full length compilation album of tracks I have previously released digitally in form of singles, EP's and other stuff with my drone/ambient/noise project in my own name. It is put together such that it forms a coherent experience of a musical journey and consist of 11 tracks of various length that sums up to over one and a half hour of drone, ambient and noise music. It is up for free on Bandcamp and coming the beginning of June it will be up on various online music services and stores as well, such as iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. It is the plan that I will later finance a homemade physical homemade double CDR including extra cover art, which will become available for ordering via Bandcamp (when exactly this will happen is unsure though). With the full download of the album comes the full set of artwork to create ones own double CDR (including disk art), everything needed to do this will be a paper, printer, scissors and glue. The tittle of this album Dør is the Danish word for Door (but in Danish that means Dies as well).
  6. I uploaded a brand new 8 minute and 26 second ambient/drone track for free listening and download through Bandcamp. For now it is not part of any album or a planed release through my net distributer, but might become so in the future. Promise to update in the album and EP forum in that case. So here's the track: Just wanted to share, although feedback is welcome. Personally I think it might be my best track since Den Hvide Død (The White Death), which is the opener on my new album Dør.
  7. The Green Sage (16:50) 2. Blue Dwarf's Hill (21:50) Free download! 8. Artist: Fjernsind Album: Space Odyssey Type: EP (2 tracks) Style tags: Drone, ambient, noise, psychedelic, post-rock Media type: WEB (Bandcamp for now, later - most likely during the first week of August - iTunes, Amazon, Spotify e.t.c) Year: 2016 Label: Flystyrt Catalog ID: 0034 Length: 21:00 Official url: https://fjernsind.bandcamp.com/album/space-odyssey Tracklist: 1. 9. Edit: I added two new songs to the album, and therefor I have updated information in this post, also you should know that track number 2,3, and 4 on this release hardly fall into the category Psybient. Edit#2: New Cover too for the EP added. Edit#3: New track added, and the order of the tracks rearranged. Edit#4: Sorry, but this album developed into something else than first intended, now having 13 tracks, where only few of them can be characterized as Psybient. If a moderator want to delete this thread, because the album no longer really fit into the intention of this forum, I will be perfectly fine with it. Artist: Flystyrt Album: Centrum, det falske sted! Type: EP (4 tracks) Style tags: Ancient percussive ambient, Psybient, Spoken Word, Poetry Media type: WEB (Bandcamp for now, later - most likely during May - iTunes, Amazon, Spotify e.t.c) Year: 2016 Label: Flystyrt Catalog ID: 0030 Length: 00:11:50 Official url: https://flystyrt.bandcamp.com/album/centrum-det-falske-sted Tracklist: 1. (3:15) Here's the lyrics to the tittle track (including English translation): Lav 10 englehop på stedet, forestil dig samtidigt, at Jorden følger dine bevægelser, således at dine fødder på intet tidspunkt modvirker tyngdefeltet. Translation: The center, the false spot! Do 10 jumping jacks on the spot, Imagine at the same time that the Earth follows your movements so that your feet at no time counteracts the gravitational field. Remember that you are a small blue glazed hollow ball of clay, meandering in the oceans' waves. Close your eyes and run to the nearest bus stop while maintaining the picture in your mind's eye. Jump on the first bus, and continue your journey into night. Cover art: The track number 1 and 5 were programmed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Jacob Læby in just 3 days, from the 9th of May to the 11th of May 2016, track number 2 and 4 were old tracks with new vocals recorded in the same day as well as mastered and mixed, track number 5 was a reedit of an old track with added vocals, made in about an hour. Flystyrt is an experimental musical solo project of Jacob Læby, evolving around own Danish poems.
  10. Hello everyone, I hope this will make for an interesting stay. Just found the forum searching for psychedelic music forums, and I am quite shocked by how few there seem to be. Anyway glad I found you. AIready made my first post in the Music and Releases sub forum, about a new release I have been involved in creating, namely the 4 track EP Journey Across the River Styx, by the electronic duo I am in called Electro Jar: http://forum.psybient.org/index.php/topic/1421-electro-jar-journey-across-the-river-styx-2016-flystyrt-psychedelicexperimentaldowntempo/ Electro Jar is absolutely my most active project at the moment, although I have a few solo project I work on on the sideline, these are as follows, just to get it over with: ...and for such a long time (lo-fi psychedelic folk): https://andforsuchalongtime.bandcamp.com/ Jacob Læby (ambient/noise/drone project in my own name): https://jacoblaeby.bandcamp.com/ Flystyrt (which beside being my label name and translated to English meaning plain crash, also is the name of the musical project in which I recite own Danish poems to experimental, predominantly electronic, music): https://flystyrt.bandcamp.com/ Further back, as I mention in the post about the new EP release by Electro Jar, I have a background in alternative rock, playing bass for the hardcore/noise/math-rock band Menfolk and bass, lead guitar and some backing vocals as the other half of the lo-fi indie pop duo Janosch. To get back to Electro Jar, here is some info: Electro Jar is a duo consisting of Jackie Rasmusen (Programming, Vocals) and Jacob Læby (Programming, Additional Instruments, Vocals) that compose electronic music of the genre crossing, psychedelic and slightly experimental kind, though with focus on ambient sound qualities, to create soundscapes, and the more down-tempo/chill end of the musical spectrum. It all started back in August 2014, where they created an instrumental chillout cover version of Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), originally by Eurythmics, as their first finished track. Since the duo has created 18 original tracks, which are all up for free listening and download on their Bandcamp page: https://electrojarjar.bandcamp.com/ 9 of these tracks are further more available through various online shops and services such as iTunes, Amazon and Spotify, namely: Singles: - With the Light On (06/2015) - In Dreams (10/2015) EP's: - Sonic Inception (11/2015) Featuring 3 tracks: 1. Sonic Inception 2. Lost 3 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Journey Across the River Styx (04/2016) Featuring 4 tracks: 1. Journey Across the River Styx 2. Inlets To Eternity 3. Return to Center 4. Minority Report All this is taken from our Facebook page, which is here: https://www.facebook.com/ElectroJar/ And for those curious about how our first track sounded, even if it was a cover of Eurythmics, here it is: https://soundcloud.com/jacob-laeby/sweet-dreams-electro-jar-remix-of-eurythmics-sweet-dreams-are-made-of-this Which leads me to my SoundCloud page where most of the recent music I have been involved with is to be found: https://soundcloud.com/jacob-laeby/
  11. Artist: Electro Jar Album: Journey Across the River Styx Type: EP Style tags: Cross genre psychedelic and slightly experimental downtempo/chill (Please do inform us if you have an exact genre we would fit in.) Media type: WEB Year: 2016 Label: Flystyrt Catalog ID: 0026 Length: 00:29:41 Official url: https://electrojarjar.bandcamp.com/album/journey-across-the-river-styx Tracklist: 1. Journey Across the River Styx (08:29) 2. Inlets to Eternity (07:11) 3. Return to Center (08:17) 4. Minority Report (05:44) (Please note the player has been set to start at track number 2) Electro Jar is a duo consisting of Jacob Læby (programming, vocals, additional physical instruments) and Jackie Rasmusen (programming, vocals), it was formed in August 2014 and have managed to create 18 original tracks since then, all of them available for free listening and download via Bandcamp (https://electrojarjar.bandcamp.com), although a few releases has been made available through various online music stores and services, such as iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. The EP regarding this post will also be available through various online music services and stores from the 22nd of April 2016. Everything was taken care of by the duo, from the composition, programming and recording to the mixing and mastering included and was created in just about a month time, from the beginning of March to the beginning of April 2016. And just to clarify, I am one half of the project Jacob Læby, don't know why I am writing about myself in third person Jackie has a background primarily making progressive trance, where as my background primarily is alternative rock. This is the cover artwork (made by me): PS: If you chose to download the full EP files for printing out artwork to make a CD will be included, all you will need is some cutting and gluing (talk about a DIY album in the words true meaning )
