yiannis 201 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 Self-explanatory title once more. For me it would have to be Dakini, especially the Sky Dancing compilations. Altar and Interchill share second place. Feel free to post any covers you'd like to share.
timeisart 170 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 great thread yiannis, nowadays I'd have to say Altar Records, they almost always have interesting artwork. Matt Hillier's Virtual label has artwork with a consistently clean, pure and abstract look that nicely reflects the music itself. If I'm not mistaken I think Matt himself designs these covers. I also always liked Storm Thorgerson's work for Twisted Records before he passed away in 2013 (and you could say Twisted "died" around then too). There were only 3 made for them but you could tell he was a master of his craft: Younger Brother - The Last Days of Gravity Shpongle - Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland Younger Brother - Vaccine (posting from my phone at the moment, will try to link images later)
yiannis 201 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 Yeah, love the Ineffable cover. The other two not so much. Last Days is a great album though.
Gagarin Project 400 Report post Posted August 1, 2016 I am not a fan of altar putting "24bit" logo on their releases. I would highlight "merkaba records" covers as well. 1 yiannis reacted to this
