The 25th release on Dakini Records introduces the spacious, sleek sounds of The Atmosphere Factory, 

veteran producer Gio Makyo's solo exploration into late-night stargazing ambient. 

Full of pulsating sequencer riffs and celestial tones, 

The Atmosphere Factory draws on classic '70s ambient --like Tangerine Dream, Terry Riley, and Fripp & Eno,... 

to break away from the straitjacket of computer-based composing and to embrace live, real-time improvisations, free-flowing and hypnotic. 

Mixed into two album "sides", one live and one studio, the album is designed for deep listening, perfect for meditation, moon-gazing, and mind-wandering.

The preview sounds really nice. The tracks are both extremely long, hope they're not mostly droney with a few climaxes here and there. If the preview is indicative of the real thing, it sounds like something I'll like as much as the first Padmasana album, which I consider a masterpiece. Thanks for the tip  =Ò’LΦɎD=

A stunning piece of cosmic, richly melodic ambient techno-trance and retro psychedelia from long-time chill master Gio Fazio, and rather different to the juicy Eastern-dub sounds he makes under his Makyo banner. Atmosphere Factory sounds quite unlike anything else in psychill right now, partly because he made it “live†without any computers and using mostly old-school gear. The clean, hypnotic arpeggios and jaw-droppingly pretty textures sound like a love letter to classic Silent Records, the 90’s ambient label that launched Makyo and - in its 2016 rebooted form - featured Atmosphere Factory on one of its compilations. You'll also hear a lovely pastiche of hippie minimalist Terry Riley’s droning organ called “A Rainbow On Curved Hipsâ€. Made by a gifted multi-instrumentalist and composer of some 35 years stranding, Atmosphere Factory is completely wonderful and gets my highest recommendation.
