Yeah I know this is a lot to take in all at once but monthly updates only are how it's going to have to be done in 2020, the weekly updates were taking up too much time last year.

Everything posted here falls under the umbrella of psychedelic downtempo, but the main thing that took the longest to do in the past was to apply specific, relevant genre tags to each release, which are currently missing from this post.

There's a chance that I may update these monthly posts later in the month and add in genre tags, but only if volunteers help me fill in the genre column on the google sheet that these posts are based off of. (Message me with your email address if you want to volunteer to add genre tags to the google sheet.)

Just added genres to all releases here.

I'm experimenting with adding specific highlight colors to each genre to maybe make them stand out more at a glance, let me know if you like it or if you think it looks too weird.

You were right about the pastels. The full color was so thick that I was having problems reading the print under some of them unless I highlighted it with my cursor. But there are no such issues with the pastels; I can easily read the underlying print unaided.

Oh; except for the world fusion grey. You might consider paling it up a bit more.

ok I lightened up the World Fusion color a little, I agree it was a bit too dark originally.. btw it was supposed to be a brown, because world = soil/dirt = brown I guess lol. it's more of a tan color now though.

I suppose there was a little thought put into choosing the colors for the genres (but not much):

Psybass / Psystep is purple because I've actually seen the word "purple" used as a genre descriptor for some experimental bass music so I figured that fits.
Psydub is green because you smoke marijuana to dub music lol
Chillgressive / Deep Trance - seems like higher tempo music should have a warm color like red, and so Psytrance is a darker shade of red.
Psybient / Psychill mostly seems cool/cold to me for some reason so blue fits imo.
Ambient needed the lightest color possible and since I couldn't use white I figured yellow was the next best choice.
Techno is gray because it's machine music
Downtempo & Psybreaks - didn't really have a reason to pick orange for these other than I hadn't used it for any of the other genres.

It might be useful to copy-paste the colour codes each month, or make them somehow readily available without having to search this topic each time.

well I like how I can initially post all the releases of the month without genres, then I can take my time listening to the releases and adding genre tags to them before finally updating the post. By spacing it out, it feels like less work than having to already have genre tags applied when making the initial post.

It might be useful to copy-paste the colour codes each month, or make them somehow readily available without having to search this topic each time.

yeah I've got the google sheet set up to automatically add the colors in when I type in the genres.

thank you guys for following these posts, I wouldn't be doing this if I thought no one benefited from it.
