Sixis (sample pack)

In addition to composition and audio engineering I focus a lot of energy on sound design.  I am doing a series of free sample packs that will be available here. Expect a new one every few months!  I also do freelance sound design so please contact me if you are interested.

World’s largest natural sound archive now fully digital and fully online.
“In terms of speed and the breadth of material now accessible to anyone in the world, this is really revolutionary,” says audio curator Greg Budney, describing a major milestone just achieved by the Macaulay Library archive at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. All archived analog recordings in the collection, going back to 1929, have now been digitized and can be heard at www.MacaulayLibrary.org

Have you tried downloading any sounds from the Macaulay Library? Its an amazing resource but it seems that you have to choose the desirable sounds and apply for purchase through a form (cart), which makes the process very bureaucratic and ineffective IMO...

no i haven't

Yep, same here...   This looks like a great and beautiful library :)     But the searching and downloading process is very discouraging....  :(      I hope they will change and improve this...

I have released a World Music Sample Pack in both a free edition and premium edition.

The free version comes with 4 instruments including shakers, hapi drum, native flute, and doumbek.

The premium version comes with 28 instruments including marimba, didgeridoo, mbira, djembe, saxophone, jaw harp and a whole lot more.

All the samples were recorded myself using a high quality condenser mic or sampled from public domain recordings. They are 100% royalty free to use in your own productions.

Download the free version and/or check out the premium version available via Pro Samples here:
